About Rob Carr our principal photographer

Having fostered a love of the still image, Rob has been taking photographs for over 50 years. His journey has moved from travel snaps to wildlife, landscape, street and fine art photography. He has been commissioned to create commercial, event, product, studio, portraiture and fashion projects. He has a collection of images of Brutalist architecture from the 1960s.

Rob has settled himself into producing quality fine art photographs.

In an abstract sense, Rob looks to work with lines, shapes, contradictions, textures, opposites, symmetry etc.. The purpose of photographic art is to entice the person into the image, to make the onlooker travel around the image and discover different aspects to the image.

Rob’s portfolio on here can be described as varied, mixed, diverse, eclectic.

He hopes to cast a critical artistic eye to every area of his work. He seeks the stand out, the different, the individual. It’s sometimes elusive, but that is the quest.

As with many art forms, the object is to create an image that promotes thought and that stimulates contemplation taking the observer to different parts of the image.

Rob utilises the latest photographic equipment, both Canon and Nikon and post production technology from Adobe including Lightroom, Photoshop and Premier Rush. He also uses his smart phone!

Rob was Born in East London and was admitted as a solicitor. He worked in the City of London for 30 years earning a good reputation. Rob will say that his photographic and artistic mojo was well and truly suppressed, but it never died!

Rob studied photography formally at Morley College, London and exhibited there.

Rob has enjoyed enormous help and encouragement from friends and family and, is so grateful to everyone who is supporting him on his journey.
